historical kigali city tour experience
Kigali City Tour will offer you with one of the best views of Kigali, past and present, assuring that one feels the genuine heartbeat of the city. You will get to visit some of its precious historical sites which leaves you wanting more. You might have not taken time to explore deep into the beauty of this city but this short tour will give you a feel of the highlights of Kigali; a city that is blessed with a moderate climate throughout the year, Kigali is not only a vibrant commercial center but also a rich cultural center full of amazing historical sites. It's beauty is well witnessed in the evening and at night when all lights glimmer over the magnificent hills . The life in Kigali is exceptional with numerous things to keep you entertained and relaxed in beautiful hotels. This tour is a must do before or after your conference.
FULL DAY GORILLA TREKKING EXPERIENCE
On this full day tour you will drive at the crack of dawn at 4:30 am for a 3 hour journey from Kigali with beautiful views of the sun rising over the beautiful hills covered by mist to Volcanoes national park. At 7:00am you will report to the Volcanoes National Park for registration and briefing of the day , a hot cup of Rwandese tea and coffee will be offered to you with entertainment before heading up the mysterious steep slopes that will take you to the gorillas. After trekking you will have your lunch and then take a scenic drive back to Kigali.
2-DAY GORILLA TREKKING EXPERIENCE
DAY 1
This trip begins with a Kigali City Tour which showcases the beauty and diversity of the capital city and provides you an opportunity to visit the Genocide Memorial and the eco-friendly philanthropic organization, ‘Cards from Africa.’ After lunch, you are driven through the scenic rolling hills of the country to Volcanoes National Park where you spend the night at the cozy, picturesque Amakoro Songa Lodge or another lodge of your choice.
DAY 2
The morning begins with Gorilla trekking—an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience that brings you face-to-face with Rwanda’s majestic mountain gorillas. Upon returning from the trek, you enjoy lunch and return to Kigali.
FULL DAY AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK EXPERIENCE
Passing through some of Rwanda's phenomenal landscape in the Eastern province of Rwanda, you will begin your 2.5 hours journey from Kigali to Akagera National Park at 5:00am. The adventure will begin with an exciting Game Drive where you discover the diverse wildlife traversing the Kilala plain. Packed lunch will be provided to fuel you for the adventure that lies ahead and the day will conclude in comfort at the Ruzizi Tented Camp. In the afternoon you will enjoy a boat ride that will allow you to cruise the serene and picturesque Lake Ihema, giving you the opportunity to see game from a different perspective. You will then be driven back to Kigali and dropped off at your hotel.
TWO-DAY AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK EXPERIENCE
DAY 1
This two-day tour will start with an optional short Kigali city tour before embarking on a 2.5 hour journey to Akagera National park (2.5hr ) where you will check in at Ruzizi Tented Lodge or Akagera Game Lodge. Don't forget your camera! You will enjoy the beautiful scenery and landscape while catching glimpses of elephants, zebras, and a variety of other wildlife.
DAY 2
On the second day, you will enjoy an amazing boat ride on Lake Ihema that will feature views of a large number of hippos, huge Nile crocodiles, and a variety of bird species. For the bird-lover, you can be entertained by the majestic African fish eagles and the large concentration of water birds. The forest fringed lakes ,papyrus swamps, savannah plains and rolling highlands combine to make Akagera amongst the most scenic of reserves anywhere in Africa. After the boat ride you will check out and return to Kigali.
THREE-DAY NYUNGWE NATIONAL PARK EXPERIENCE
DAY 1
This 3-day tour to Nyungwe National park shows nature at its best. Nyungwe is untouched natural rainforest that is filled with exciting biodiversity. On this tour you have a choice to fly (a 30 minute flight) or to be driven (a 6-hour drive) to the southern part of Rwanda. In the afternoon take on the memorable canopy walk experience during which you will be suspended in the air amongst the trees taking in the breathtaking views of the rainforest. The canopy which is 90 meters above the ground and overlooking the lusciously green trees and plants is a must-visit. The day of adventure concludes at the Nyungwe Forest Lodge where you spend the night before embarking on another exciting leg of your journey.
DAY 2
Your professional driver guide will drive you at 5:00am to the park headquarters for chimpanzee trekking in Cyamundongo forest. On this trek you will have a chance to come eye to eye with the chimps and a variety of other monkeys. After lunch you will enjoy a guided walk within the park to visit the Colobus monkeys or a restful pampering session at the lodge.
DAY 3
Your day will begin with a delicious breakfast and then you will check out and drive 6 hrs back to Kigali. You will have an option to stop and visit the Butare Museum or the Nyanza palace for a cultural experience on your way to Kigali.
FULL DAY CULTURE AND HERITAGE EXPERIENCE
Nyanza Royal Palace is located in the southern part of Rwanda, the former home of King Mutara III Rudahigwa. On this tour you will be impressed by enormous domed structures that are made entirely with traditional materials. This palace has been painstakingly restored to its original 19th Century state and is now maintained as a museum.
During the tour, you will have the option to visit the Rwesero Art Museum, an art gallery where contemporary Rwandan artwork is displayed. In the neighboring district of Huye, lies the Ethnographic Museum an impressive exhibit of Africa’s finest collections of pre and post-colonial ethnographic, artistic and archaeological pieces. Recently, the long-horned traditional cows known in Kinyarwanda as "Inyambo," were introduced to the culture tour because cows form an integral part of the Rwandan Culture. A must-visit if you are a lover of History and Culture, this can be done as a day trip from Kigali since its a 2 hour drive from Kigali.
LAKE KIVU EXPERIENCE
